What is included with the iSUP? All of our iSUP kits come with: 1 x inflatable stand-up paddleboard 1 x single blade fibreglass paddle 1 x single chamber dual-action hand pump 3 x removable fins 1 x coiled board leash 1 x repair kit 1 x backpack-style case Additionally, all of our boards come with 9 pre-attached D-rings: 4 D-ring bungee cord storage area at the nose end of the board for strapping down your gear 1 tail end D-ring for attachment to docks or other boards 4 D-rings on the EVA foam deckpad which can be used with our kayak conversion kit seat, allowing you to convert your board from inflatable stand-up paddleboard to a seated kayak style "SIT-up paddleboard" What is the difference between the All-Around and Touring iSUPs? How do I know which one is right for me? The All-Around iSUP has a rounded nose known as a planing hull, which is designed for cruising lakes, bays, oceans, rivers, SUP surfing, SUP fishing, and SUP yoga. The nose of the All-Around board has a little rocker which means it is slightly raised above the water, allowing it to easily handle waves. The All-Around iSUP has excellent maneuverability and stability, is extremely versatile, and is perfect for beginners and those looking to paddle for leisure purposes. It's also great to bring your four-legged furry friend along as well! The Touring iSUP has a pointed nose, known as a displacement hull, which is designed for longer and more fast-paced paddling on flat water. This board allows for better tracking, or the ability to stay on a straight course with fewer strokes per side. Overall, the Touring iSUP is great for increased speed and longer trips. See our All-Around and Touring product descriptions in the LLPC shop for more details! What are the dimensions of the boards? What is the weight limit? Both the Touring and the All-Around boards are 10'6" long, 31" wide, and 6" thick. The weight limit for both boards is 275lbs. How do I care for my iSUP correctly? Paddleboards can last a lifetime if cared for properly, making them an outstanding investment. After each use, be sure to rinse your board with fresh water and dry it before storing. Over time, salt water can deteriorate your board, not to mention it won't smell pleasant. This makes rinsing, especially after use in salt water, a very important step to take after paddling. When your board is inflated and on land, try not to drag it over gravel or rocks, don't drop it or kick it around, and don't sit on it while the fins are out of water. Be sure to store your paddleboard out of direct sunlight. Longterm, exposure to direct sunlight can gradually cause damage to the PVC material and may cause fading. When rolling your deflated board up, we recommend rolling it a bit on the looser side - your iSUPs seams will thank you! If you store your board inflated, don't forget to check the pressure and reinflate as needed before taking it out again. If you aren't planning on taking your board out for a while, we advise storing it deflated and loosely rolled within its backpack. If your board gets dirty or scuffed you can use natural, biodegradable soap and water to clean it. Rinse well after cleaning, and be gentle when cleaning the EVA deckpad so as not to damage it. For tough scuffs, a magic eraser works great. Magic erasers aren't toxic to the environment but they're also not biodegradable, so we'd recommend only using these if really necessary. Can I try before I buy? Yes! We know that purchasing an iSUP is a big investment if you've never tried it. Lotus Land Paddle Co. provides rental services in the Greater Vancouver area, so you are more than welcome to try our Touring and/or All-Around iSUP before you buy. Please contact us for more details. What is the recommended PSI? The maximum PSI for our boards is 18. We recommend inflating to at least 10 PSI, as underinflating can sacrifice stability and cause a crease in the middle if there's too much weight on the board. 12 - 15 PSI is ideal; we do not generally recommend inflating past 15 PSI as you will not see a noticeable difference in rigidity or stability, although heavier riders may have a better experience at 16 - 18 PSI. Keep in mind that the gauge on the pump will not register anything until you reach 7 PSI. The last 30 - 40 pumps should be fairly difficult, but it's very important to inflate to at least 10 PSI. The most important thing you need on the water is a life jacket or PFD (personal floatation device). It's also a good idea to have water in a reusable bottle, reef-safe sunscreen, and if it's a sunny day, a hat and a pair of shades. We highly recommend a dry bag as well (visit our shop to check out our LLPC dry bags), which will safely hold and keep all your necessities dry, such as your phone, wallet, keys, sunscreen, and shoes. Another handy item worth the investment is a pair of water shoes or waterproof socks. What are the advantages of an inflatable board and a kayak conversion kit? First of all, deciding on an inflatable board over a hard board gives you the added versatility of being able to pack and transport your board easily. It's much lighter and easier to handle than a hard board, and you won't need a lot of room to store it; deflated, it easily fits in the trunk of a small vehicle - no roof rack, big SUV, or pickup truck needed! Another huge benefit is that you can hike with your board to more remote bodies of water with it deflated and stored in its backpack. Bring on the adventures! Our kayak conversion kit allows you to easily switch from standing with a single blade paddle to sitting, leaning back in a seat and using a double blade paddle. Using the conversion kit for a "sit-up paddleboard" is useful for a whole body workout, if water conditions change and sitting is more stable, or if you'd simply rather just sit down and chill, kayak style! Check out our conversion kit in the LLPC shop. Do I have to deflate my board after every use? If you prefer to transport and store your board fully inflated, you can safely do so as long as it's kept in a cool indoor location and out of direct sunlight. Also, don't forget to check the pressure before taking it out again! Your board may lose pressure gradually while it's inflated, so you may need to top it up if you've been storing it without deflating. If you're planning to store your board for a while without using it, we would advise fully deflating and keeping it loosely rolled in its backpack. What is your shipping policy and do your boards come with a warranty? Please see our shipping and warranty policies for more information. Why do you use paper packaging instead of plastic? We are committed to being as environmentally friendly as possible. Despite paper packaging having its downsides, after thoroughly researching, we feel that the positives still outweigh the negatives in the paper VS. plastic packaging dilemma. We choose to use paper packaging instead of plastic because paper is biodegradable, made from a renewable resource, and far more easily recycled than plastic at a post-consumer level - meaning that the end-of-life characteristics of paper are more environmentally friendly compared to plastic. To help offset the negatives of paper packaging and because we truly want to make a difference in whatever capacity we can, $20 from every iSUP sale goes directly to BC based conservation nonprofit, Pacific Wild. All of our paper packaging materials are stamped with a nontoxic ink reminder to recycle. We'd also strongly encourage reuse/repurposing of these materials wherever possible - as gift wrap, your own packaging, or for arts and crafts! We are exploring options for biodegradable/compostable plastic packaging for future use, and are happy to receive input from our customers about packaging alternatives. RETURNS Our return policy lasts 60 days. If 60 days have gone by since your purchase, unfortunately we are unable to offer your a refund. To be eligible for a refund/exchange, your item must meet the following criterias: Be unused and in the same condition that you received it. Be in the original packaging. Additionally, we require proof of purchase prior to completing any returns. To start the return process, please e-mail us with your order number and your purchase date at LotusLandPaddleCo@gmail.com . You will be provided with a prepaid trackable shipping label to use for your return; the customer is responsible for paying shipping expenses for returns, the cost of which will be deducted from your refund. REFUNDS Lotus Land Paddle Co. offers returns on our inflatable stand-up paddleboards and our dry bags. Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned iSUP. If your returned iSUP meets the above criteria and your refund is approved, then it will be processed and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or PayPal account within 14 business days. LATE OR MISSING REFUNDS If 14 business days have passed since you received emailed approval of your refund and you haven’t received it yet, first check your credit card or PayPal account again. WARRANTY All Lotus Land Paddle Co. iSUP boards come with a 2-year limited warranty from the date of purchase. The customer is responsible for inspecting the board upon receiving it to ensure the condition at the time of delivery is satisfactory. As a limited warranty, this warranty applies only to the original purchaser and is nontransferable to subsequent owners or purchasers. This warranty covers defects in material and/or workmanship that may affect the functionality and/or structural integrity of the board. It does not cover any damage as a result of the following: misuse or improper handling, storage, or transport; un-authorized modifications, alterations, or attempts to repair the board or any of its parts; intentional or unintentional impacts; exposure to heat or prolonged exposure to sunlight; poor user maintenance or care; incorrect set up; commercial use.
